Build Your Savings with the GLCU Foundation
The GLCU Foundation is launching an Asset Building Matched Savings Program to help members of low to moderate income grow their savings. Through the program, members can save towards financial well-being goals with the opportunity to have those savings matched dollar for dollar up to $1,000.00 through May 31, 2026. Members can sign up for the program and be reviewed for eligibility by scheduling a financial counseling session below.

They offer comprehensive one-on-one counseling sessions tailored to your unique situation, ensuring you receive the support you need to make informed decisions and achieve financial stability. Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) believes that every young adult has a pathway to success. As a non-profit organization committed to providing Lake County’s young people with the tools and resources to develop and build skills for life, YCC mentors and empowers young adults through education and training in life skills, career pathways, and environmental stewardship.
The GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowermentselected YCC as our Q2 partner because its mission closely aligns with ours. The $2,500 funds will help support continued financial literacy to the youth in our communities of Waukegan, North Chicago, and Zion.
GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment is proud to award eight scholarships to members who are continuing their education. This year’s recipients joined us in May for a reception to celebrate their accomplishments. The GLCU Foundation is excited to partner with The Here to Stay Community Land Trust. The Here to Stay Community Land Trust retains low- to moderate-income households across Chicago through affordable homeownership and communal ownership of the land. The GLCU Foundation will be hosting condo ownership workshops to educate community members on the benefits and responsibilities of condominium ownership, helping residents make informed decisions and successfully navigate the process of purchasing and maintaining a condo.
